International patients

Urology information for patients outside Iran.

This page is for travellers, visitors and Iranians living abroad who have a urinary, kidney-stone, prostate or male-fertility concern and are thinking about seeing Dr. Monadi, a urologist in Tabriz. It explains what to collect before you get in touch and how to reach the support team. It does not promise that a visit, an online consultation or any particular service is available; those points are listed below as not yet confirmed.

Before you get in touch

Gather what you have. Clear copies or phone photos are fine to start with.

  • Imaging reports (ultrasound, CT, X-ray, MRI) and, if you have them, the images themselves
  • Urine tests and cultures, kidney function (creatinine) and, if you have had them, PSA results with their dates, or semen analysis reports on the original sheet
  • Every medicine you take, including herbal products and supplements, with the name on the box
  • Any stone you have passed and any stone analysis result, and a note of earlier stone attacks, procedures or operations, including a stent or catheter placed in another country
  • A short timeline: when the problem started, what makes it better or worse, and any fever, blood in the urine or night-time urination
  • Your allergies, your other long-term conditions, and any family history of kidney stones, kidney disease or prostate or bladder cancer

The way to send these documents is still being confirmed. For now, call the international support line: +989302272111

How it works

  1. 1

    Collect your records

Put together the documents listed above. If urination is the problem, a simple bladder diary of three days (what you drink, when you pass urine, how often you get up at night) is very useful.

  2. 2

    Call the support team

Call the international support line to ask what the next step is. Anything not yet confirmed is listed below.

  3. 3

A visit in Tabriz, if one is arranged

The doctor examines you in person and decides which tests or imaging are needed. A diagnosis and a treatment plan come after an examination, not before.

  4. 4

Support while you are in Tabriz

The patient support services are described on the support page. Ask the support team which of them apply to your situation.

  5. 5

    Follow-up after you go home

Keep your reports and your medicine list. How follow-up from abroad works is being confirmed.

Practical questions

Can a diagnosis be made from my records alone?

Not usually. Your records help the doctor understand your situation, but a diagnosis and a treatment plan come after an examination and the right tests.

Should I stop or change my medicines before I contact you?

No. Keep taking your medicines as prescribed and do not stop or change any of them without your own doctor. Bring the list with you.

I have severe flank pain, or I cannot pass urine. Can I wait until I can come to Tabriz?

Please do not wait. Severe flank pain with fever or chills, being unable to pass urine, sudden severe testicular pain, or a painful erection lasting more than four hours need emergency care where you are, right now. See the list of urgent signs in the guide.

Is an online or phone consultation possible?

This is not confirmed yet and is listed above as awaiting details. Please do not assume it is available until the support team confirms it.

What about language, fees and insurance?

These are not confirmed yet and are listed above as awaiting details. Please do not assume anything until they are confirmed.

What number do I call in an emergency?

115 is Iran's emergency number. It works only while you are in Iran. If you are outside Iran, call your local emergency number.

Every patient's situation is different; ask your doctor about your own.
